The autocross event at Swan Hill on 6 October gives members the chance to take part in one of Milton Grant’s famous Meanders. This one is a drive of about four hours.
The event will start at 10.15am on Saturday 5 October at Woodend, after coffees in High Street. There are several coffee shops on the left of High Street heading north, past the Holgate brewery, with a bakery at the end of the block.
We will then gather just a bit further along the old highway, over Five Mile Creek on the service road, which has a large white two-storey house facing it. After travelling on part of the Calder Freeway we will take lesser roads and end up at Wedderburn for lunch. There is a choice of counter meals at the pub or at the café next door. After lunch we will continue, stopping for a break at Lake Boga (location of the WWII RAAF flying-boat base) and on to Swan Hill.
Accommodation has been arranged at the Murray Downs Resort just over the Murray in NSW. The Saturday night gathering will also be at the resort (see below).
Ten rooms have been booked at Murray Downs in the name of Peugeot Car Club.
Prices: Saturday night at the resort $180, Sunday night $160.
Telephone 03 5033 1966 for bookings and tell them you are booking the Peugeot rooms.
An alternative is the Lazy River Motor Inn, run by the president of the Swan Hill Sporting Car Club, www.lazyrivermotorinn.com.au [1]
Dinner on Saturday will be from 7pm in the Balcony room, also booked under the Peugeot Car Club. Please call (03) 5033 1422 if you have any dietary needs.
This is a great opportunity to give the Pug a good long run and have a pleasant weekend with other club members.
