How do you see the future of motoring? Do you reckon that in 15 or 20 years we will still be driving the sort of cars we drive today? If so, you are probably wrong. The guest speaker at the March meeting will be Charles Karl from ARRB, formerly known as the Australian Road Research Board. Charles will speak about the inevitable move towards driverless cars, a move that was indicated by the successful testing of several autonomous Volvos in Adelaide last year. All new Volvos are factory fitted with the driverless software, so it’s happening soon. For the final time this summer there will be a BYO barbecue before the meeting and supper afterwards. So get your soon-to-be-superseded car ready and come along to see what the future holds. Where: VDC Clubrooms, Unit 8, 41-49 Norcal Road, Nunawading (Melway 48, G10) When: Barbecue from 6.30pm. Meeting starts at 8pm. And in case you are wondering how the Tasmanian grand tour is going, have a look at the attached picture from Mike Jolley.
