The Marong Federation Picnic is to be held on Sunday 31 August at the Marong football grounds known as Malone Park. These grounds can be accessed from either the Calder Alternative (A790, turn off the Calder at Ravenswood) or the Calder Highway itself heading west from Bendigo (A79). The day is run by The Federation of Veteran Vintage and Classic Clubs and this will be the 22nd event at this location. It’s a day where people from the movement come together with a common interest and a day not advertised to the public. Entry for cars of 25 years or older will free of charge and others will be asked to make a small donation to Rotary. Park your car, have a wander and a snag at the Rotary BBQ. For the technically minded and those with a rural interest there will be tractors and stationary engines on display. The gates are open from 9am. We will meet at Mobil Ardeer on the Western Ring Road (M80) outbound just after Boundary Road at 9am for a 9.30am start.
