If you are planning to go to the Federation picnic at Marong on 31 August, please make your own way there. There will be no convoy from Ardeer (as previously advertised) because no one has indicated they want to go. The Marong Picnic is at the Marong football grounds known as Malone Park, starting at 9.30am. These grounds can be accessed from both The Calder alternative (A790) or the Calder heading west from Bendigo towards Charlton (A79). The day is run by The Federation of Veteran Vintage and Classis Clubs and this will be the 22nd event at this location. It’s a day where people from the movement come together with a common interest and a day not advertised to the public. Entry for cars over 25 years old will free of charge and others will be asked to make a small donation to Rotary. Park your car, have a wander and a snag at the Rotary BBQ. For the technically minded and those with a rural interest there will be tractors and stationary engines on display.
