On Sunday 14 April PCCV is organising a khanacross within the METEC driver training complex at 112 Colchester Road, Kilsyth. The cost to compete is $80, or $40 for juniors between 13 and 18 years.
The ground layout will provide us with several testing courses on bitumen and concrete, through chicanes and turns every 150 metres or so. Imagine having a fast drive around a shopping centre carpark in second gear – that’s what it will be like. All tests basically start around a central assembly area to enable participants to watch all the action of other drivers.
You will need an Australian Standards-approved helmet and have a fire extinguisher fitted to your vehicle. At minimum, a CAMS level 2NS (non-speed) licence is required and entries must be received by Friday 12 April. For first-timers to motorsport ‘Come & Try’ licences will be available on the day for $25.
We really need people to officiate on the day – this could be timing, helping to run tests or simply observing. Bring a friend to help on the day if you can. Training will be provided.
Catering will be available all day.
Contact Phil Torode for entry forms or to let me know if you are willing to help. Email phil@bidwriter.com.au or phone 0432 107 301. www.facebook.com/phil.torode
Many participants, and helpers, will ensure we have a successful day.
