Romsey BYO Picnic

Romsey BYO picnic
Saturday 14 April
In April the club is planning a BYO picnic at Nacooma Farm, the property of Peter Gallagher, Erin and John Lidgerwood, who has been a PCCV member for almost 20 years.
Older club members will remember that back in the 1950s and early 60s Romsey was a popular spot for the members of the young club to try out their 203s at barrel races, flag events and out-and-out sprints.
Like most things the 203s and their owners are a little more delicate these days, so the risky sporting events will have to be a fond memory.
So lunch will be on the lawns of a lovely property with views of the mighty Macedon Ranges – a pretty good compromise. BYO everything, but there is no barbecue, so make allowance for that. Hot water will be available and there are toilets, of course.
John, who lists a pretty 203 among his impressive car collection, might even be persuaded to entertain us with a song or two.
The property itself is a fascinating place as it was established as a deer farm, then converted to an emu farm and is now a sheep farm that can contain even the most athletic sheep.
The watering and power systems are great examples of what can be done with some brainpower and modern technology with a container housing all the systems.
We expect to have two convoys arriving at the farm about 11am on the Saturday. One lot will come via Wallan Saturday market and the other via a café in Romsey.
There will be full details in April Torque, but if you want to go, please register with me ASAP because space is limited.
