SUMMARY:Cup Weekend in South Gippsland
DESCRIPTION:Following the success of the 2014 Cup Weekend at Dunkeld this year’s weekend away has been planned around the conveniently located rural town of Foster in South Gippsland where dramatic seascapes and beautiful landscapes abound. \nAccommodation has been reserved for three nights at the Comfort Inn Foster. The Motel will provide a cooked breakfast each morning and dinner on Saturday night at a cost of $130 per couple for accommodation and $25 per person for dinner. \nSunday brings a surprise with the Foster Farmers and Craft Market open all morning\, offering a host of rural goodies and handcrafts. As well or as an alternative members will be able to drive to Port Welshpool and Yarram and onto the beautiful Tara Valley on a narrow winding bitumen road which offers several picnic spots beside the river\, the Tara Falls and the rather grand Tara Valley Picnic Ground complete with rotundas at the top of the valley. A visit to the National Park and a walk along the suspension bridge is an experience not to be missed. The drive home takes drivers along the south eastern section of the good quality gravel Grand Ridge Road and then down the very scenic Boolarra Foster road. Dinner will be at the Foster Golf Club. \nMonday takes us down to the Wilsons Promontory National Park\, the Tidal River camping area and the walking trails to Squeaky Beach and Norman Bay. Morning tea and lunch is available from the Park Kiosk. Walkers may also choose to visit Telegraph Saddle and Mt Oberon. The journey back to Foster can be via Fish Creek and the Waratah Hills Vineyard where refreshments\, lunch and wine tasting are on offer. Dinner will be at the Foster Hotel. \nTuesday will bring us back to reality\, our return journey home\, but with a pleasant visit to Club Members Rob and Jenny Jarvis on their property just north of Foster. \nMembers wishing to join this fantastic experience should\, as soon as practical; \n1. Email or phone Allan Horsley\, allan.horsley@bigpond.com\, ph 9499 5861\nmob 0419 634 043 to register your interest. \n2.
