DESCRIPTION:Easter 2014 Peugeot Pageant at Boonah\, Qld\nFriday 18th – Monday 21st April 2014 \nThis year’s Pageant will be held at Boonah in the Scenic Rim\, approximately one hour south of Brisbane and one hour west of the Gold Coast. \nIt is a fantastic region to explore\, with great scenery and wineries\, and other tourist attractions\, and it would make for shorter travelling times. \nActivities include the usual Concours\, Driving Skills and Observation/ Navigation Run\, and also extra activities and entertainment\, including Rocker Cover Racing. \nThe Outlook venue was chosen as it provided for absolutely every aspect required for a Peugeot Pageant: great accommodation and dining plus Driving Skills facilities\, and the added bonus of being able to wash your cars on site before the concours! \nExtension for Pageant Registrations to 21 March \nThe final date for registration has been extended by 3 weeks to Friday 21 March which will give you extra time to get your registrations in. DESCRIPTION:This is a marquee event for the PCCV and you are urged to be part of it. The club concours is again being held in conjunction with the RACV-AOMC Classic Showcase\, at Flemington racecourse. As this is our 60th anniversary the club has requested extra space this year because we are expecting a large fleet of Peugeots to grace the lawns of the members’ car park. \nYou can download the site plan at www.aomc.asn.au/B&Eshow14.htm. \nAnd if you want to enter the Car of the Show competition\, download the entry form at www.aomc.asn.au/CarOfShowEntryCSC14.pdf. \nThe gates will open at 9am and you enter from Epsom Road\, Melway 28\, G12. \nEntry is $15 per car (no matter how many people are inside)\, but advance tickets can be purchased from Tim Farmilo at the March meeting for just $13. \nWe always put on a good show at this event\, and in 2012 our relatively small offering won a prize for best club display. DESCRIPTION:PCCV 60th Aanniversary Lunch & Concours\n\nTo celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the PCCV\, a French style lunch and Display of Cars will be held at the Dominique Portet Winery\, Maroondah Highway\, Coldstream (Melway 277 A 9) on Sunday 23 March 2014. \nEntrance to the Winery will be via Madden’s Lane (which is well signposted)\, with the gate being 400 metres from the Maroondah Highway. There will be Peugeot signs to show the way and we will direct you to the specific area allocated for the display. \nThe event will commence with the Display of Cars\, assembling from 11.30 am\, with the vines as a backdrop. Tea and coffee will be available during the morning. \nThe French style lunch will commence at 1 pm in the Barrel Room of the winery. It will comprise entrée and main courses with a 50/50 drop. Special dietary requirements can be catered for but this must be advised at the time of booking. \nWine\, beer and soft drink will be available for individual purchase on a consumption basis. DESCRIPTION:Club member Zac Edwards is our guest speaker at the March meeting. \nZac won the National Shootout at the Oz Gymkhana at Tailem Bend\, South Australia\, in December. \nZac and his business partner at TechSport\, Jeff Beaumont\, bought a damaged Mitsubishi Mirage and over 12 months built up a speed machine using the mechanicals of an Evo6 rally car\, including four-wheel-drive gear and a two-litre turbocharged engine. They replaced the steel panels with fibreglass or carbon-fibre\, extending the wheel arches to fit bigger wheels and making their own body kit. \nIn the shootout\, which you can find on YouTube\, Zac beat his nearest rival by more than 12 seconds. \nZac will have the Mirage on display for close inspection from 7pm before the club meeting. We will then roll it into the club rooms. His presentation will start with PowerPoint slides and then continue around the car in the supper area so he can point out the critical parts. \nHe will comment where appropriate on what modifications could be applied to Peugeots. It should be a great night for the petrol heads. \nThere will be a bring-your-own barbecue before the meeting and supper afterwards. \n

DESCRIPTION:1st and 2nd February 2014 \nThe first event of the new year is the annual Ballarat weekend on 1 and 2 February (before the February meeting). It will involve a real Peugeot experience\, starting with lunch at the Vaggs’ compound\, then a pleasant scenic drive\, a relaxed and inexpensive dinner\, and a great drive to lunch on the Sunday\, with a winery visit thrown in for good measure. Please note: the planned Napoleons motorkhana has been cancelled for reasons beyond our control. \nGetting to Ballarat from Melbourne is easy; just follow the Western Freeway and take the third Ballarat exit (the Midland highway\, A300)\, turning right towards Creswick and drive about 2km until you see the Peugeot flags on the left. This is the Vaggs’ property\, at 747 Midland Highway.\nWe will visit Glenn Vagg’s Peugeot history shed from 11am on the Saturday. If you haven’t seen Glenn’s shed before\, you really should. As well as some great cars\, he has all sorts of Peugeot models\, literature and promotional material. \nBYO food and drink. There will be a barbecue available if you wish to use it\, and lunch will be followed by a pleasant afternoon drive in the environs of Ballarat\, planned by Glenn and Paula\, who have promised to find us some hidden gems as well as a great coffee stop.\nOur casual dinner will be at 6.30pm at the Sebastopol Bowling Club\, which is on the left of the Midland Highway near the Begonia City Motor Inn\, where some people will be staying on Saturday night. DESCRIPTION:Club stalwart Neil Beddoe has again invited members to enjoy the peaceful surrounds of his property at Cowes. \nWe will gather at 10am at the Caldermeade Dairy\, on the South Gippsland Highway\, Melway 612\, R8\, for brunch/morning tea. Caldermeade Farm has lots of interesting things to see\, so bring the kids along. \nAt 11.30am we will head off in convoy for the drive to Neil’s home at 128 McKenzie Road\, Cowes\, Melway 634\, B3. Remember the rules of travelling in convoy: always keep the car behind you in sight. That way no one gets lost or left behind. \nOf course you can come independently if that’s your preference. \nSo bring your Pug\, your picnic basket and some chairs and have a lovely time in the shade of Neil’s many trees.

DESCRIPTION:This year’s Ray Hoey Run will be a one day run. \nWe will meet at Loch on the South Gippsland Highway about 9:30 – 10:00 am for a cuppa. DESCRIPTION:Voyage Petit to the backblocks of the Mornington Peninsula \nSunday 17 November \nCome and drive the lesser-known roads of the Mornington Peninsula. Many of these roads are gravel but suitable for all Peugeots. I have driven them all in my 406 but don’t forget that if it has been dry it may be a bit dusty and if we have had rainfall in the previous week it may be a little muddy\, so it’s probably best to keep the concours cars in the shed. \nMeeting time – 10am for coffee 10.30 departure. \nMeeting place – Barmah Park Winery Mooroduc Highway Mornington. \nHow to get there – Travel on new Peninsula Link Freeway. Take Exit 18 Mornington/Tyabb. Turn right and drive back over the freeway to Mornington. Travel 3.3km to a roundabout on the Mooroduc Highway. Turn left at roundabout. Travel 800 metres and turn in when you see the red tractor. \nLunch will be in Flinders. Lunch will be at a small country hotel with a twist. Visitors are most welcome. \n\nThis important event will start with the first BYO barbecue of the season\, starting about 7pm. \nSo bring along your food and drinks and have a relaxed meal before the meeting. \nBefore the monthly meeting we will be holding the AGM at which annual reports will be presented and office bearers for the coming year will be elected. We badly need fresh blood and new enthusiasm\, so please consider standing for the committee. \nThe highlight of the AGM will be the presentation of trophies. Among the 2012/13 competition trophies will be those for Club Champion\, Ladies and Juniors. And the Clubman and Clubwoman trophies acknowledge the extraordinary performances put in by some members. \nThe entertainment will be in the form of a presentation by one of our most valuable members.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday 26 October  \nI have deliberately kept this run as the final event of my year as events secretary. The Brisbane Ranges offer some great scenery and brilliant Peugeot roads\, so I know it will not disappoint. \nWe will gather from 10am at the McDonald’s just of the Point Cook exit from the Princes Freeway (Exit 14). \nAt 10.30am we will set off towards Geelong\, taking the Little River exit and heading towards Little River in convoy. From there we will drive around the You Yangs\, past the Ford proving ground and on to Anakie. There we turn towards the exciting surrounds of Steiglitz and on to Sheoaks\, Maude and Bannockburn\, where we will have lunch at the pub from about 12.30pm. \nYou can meet us along the way or at Bannockburn\, but I must have numbers for lunch at least a week before the event. Please don’t just turn up on the day and expect to be included for lunch. \nFinally\, a note on driving in convoy: your duty is to keep the car behind you in sight. SUMMARY:French Car Festival
DESCRIPTION:This venue for this year’s French Car Festival is Seaworks Maritime Precinct at 82 Nelson Place\, Williamstown\, from 9.30am to 3pm. Enter via Ann Street. Entry is $10 per car\, with passengers. Pedestrians will pay a gold coin donation. \nAs there are no plans to have separate areas for different makes\, it would be great to arrive in a group. So from 9am we will form a convoy at Donald McLean Reserve\, The Avenue\, Spotswood (Melway 41\, K12)\, leaving at 9.15am. This reserve is just off the West Gate Freeway. \nThe French Car Festival venue offers raffles\, live music\, cooking demonstrations\, wine tasting food and drink stalls\, an on-site tavern\, merchandise tents\, seaplane flights and a great outlook. \nMajor prizes will be presented by the honorary consul-general for France\, Mrs Myriam Boisbouvier-Wylie and Fletch from Classic Restos will be there to document the event. \nThere will be special awards for “barn find” and “restoration in progress”. \nThe event will also be the PCCV concours\, so make sure your Pug is looking its best. \nFor those whose vehicles are so precious that they need to be under cover\, there will be parking sport than can be reserved. SUMMARY:PCCV Slippery Dip
DESCRIPTION:The club’s annual Slippery Dip will once again be run on the picturesque slopes at Jeff and Sue Gill’s property at Millgrove. \nA Slippery Dip is an untimed event where the aim is to drive your car (generally up hill) through as many of the 10 gates on each test – the more gates you pass the higher your score. Around 10 separate tests will be held on the day. \nAll you need to compete is a CAMS 2NS licence. This is a great low-key event that will test a driver’s skill rather than how fast they can complete the course. DESCRIPTION:The Euroa event will be held among the gums beside Seven Creeks Park in the centre of Euroa. \nThe show\, which is sponsored by the RACV this year\, starts at 8am and entry is via Clifton Street. \nThere will be classic\, vintage and veteran vehicles to drool over\, live bands\, trade stalls\, food stalls and\, for the kids\, a jumping castle and face painting. \nThere are 90 trophies covering all classes of cars and bikes. The club has a history of winning trophies at Euroa\, and this year should be no different. \nWe are planning to resume our traditional position beside the bridge\, where plenty of passers-by see our display. Look for the Peugeot flags. \nEuroa is only 90 minutes’ drive from Cooper Street\, so polish up the Pug and join us for a great day. Visitors are most welcome. \n\nThe guest speaker at this month’s general meeting is Shaun Ablitt of CruiseAbout\, the experts in luxury cruising. The company has cruises to all sorts of places\, including the Top End\, New Zealand and the South Pacific. Cruises offered range from eight to 21 days. Some would say this subject is “off-topic” for a car club\, but we all need a break now and then. \nNo auction this year \nBecause of a serious lack of interest on the part of buyers and sellers\, the committee has decided not to hold the club auction this year. The auction may be reinstated in the club calendar sometime later\, if there is sufficient interest.

DESCRIPTION:Ivan’s Folly on 14th September is the next PCCV competition event on our calendar. Lets stack the field with Peugeots this year. It is a very compact event with lots of great forest roads to compete on and minimal transports. \nThis year the Ivan’s Folly is being directed by Mark Laidlay. Mark will be looking for a few officials on the night so keep the date free and volunteer to help. Graham Wallis will tell you more about the event at the August meeting. DESCRIPTION:A Special General Meeting will be held at 8pm on Friday 6 September 2013\, prior to the Monthly Club Meeting\, to enable Club Members to consider and then adopt a new set of “Rules” which will govern the way the Club operates and conducts its business. \nThis task has been brought about by Consumer Affairs Victoria\, the body which oversees ‘’Not for Profit’’ organisations\, requiring such organisations  to adopt new “Rules” generally in accordance with new “Model Rules” published by them. \nThe Club Committee has carefully reviewed the new Model Rules and enhanced them with material from the current Club Rules which were adopted in April 2006 so they reflect the way we currently operate. \nThe proposed new “Rules” are available here. \nThe process is largely procedural however members will be given the opportunity to consider the proposed new Rules at this meeting. \nAllan Horsley \n

DESCRIPTION:The August Voyage Petit will start from Wheelers Hill. Our first stop is the Light Horse and Field Artillery Museum at Nar Nar Goon. The museum is dedicated\, in part\, to the roles of animals in war\, including horses\, donkeys\, mules\, dogs\, birds and camels. The museum will provide a guide to lead us on a tour of the displays\, both indoors and outside\, and will provide morning tea and coffee at an inclusive price of $8 a head.
