SUMMARY:PCCV VMC motorkhana at Pakenham
DESCRIPTION:PCCV is hosting the next round of the Victorian Motorkhana Championship\, at Pakenham Auto Club’s grounds on Sunday 22 June. All PCCV members are invited to come along and compete and/or help with timing or other official duties. \nAs part of the event\, there will be a come-and-try day at the same grounds on Saturday 21 June. If you do not have a CAMS licence but would like to see what it’s like to take part in a motorkhana\, this is your opportunity. There will be no timing or scoring and it is open to juniors (aged from 12 to 17 inclusive) and adults. The cost is $10 for juniors and $20 for adults. Cars (manual and automatic) will be available for juniors\, but adults must provide their own cars. \nFor more information on both these events and supplementary regulations for the VMC round\, contact Phil Torode: phil@bidwriter.com.au or 0432 107 301. \nMost importantly though\, your help running the event on the Sunday would be best for our club. If plenty of people come and bring their kids to see what it’s all about  the task shall be easy and a few juniors might learn more about driving skills. Or simply turn up at the ground on Sunday to help out by 9.15am. \nNGK 2014 VMC5 PCCV 22 June Supp Regs Info and Entry \n

SUMMARY:Motorkhana Come & Try Day at Pakeneham
DESCRIPTION:This event is designed to give participants a basic understanding of motorsport and the opportunity to drive some typical motorkhana tests under the guidance of experienced competitors. \nThe event is aimed\, primarily\, at juniors (at least 12 and less than 18 years of age)\, but adults who have never belonged to a motorsport club may be accepted\, space permitting. A maximum of twenty (20) participants will be accepted. Juniors do not need to supply their own car as the PAC Junior Motorsport Club Cars will be at their disposal; both manual and automatic cars will be available. Adults will need to use their own car. All cars will be checked for safety by club scrutineers before being allowed to participate. A nominal charge of $10 per Junior and $20 per Adult will be made to minimise the cost to the club of running the event. \nJuniors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who remains at the venue throughout the day. Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend the Participant Briefing as this will give them a good insight into what to expect if the child proceeds further into a motor sporting career. \nAfter signing on\, we will start with a Participant Briefing – a classroom session that gives a brief overview and history of the Pakenham Auto Club\, provides some fundamental motorsport safety information and describes the various different types of motorsport from the basic club motorkhana up to the World Formula 1 Grand Prix Championship. \nNext\, we will move to the practical session. Participants will be split into small groups\, each assigned a Group Leader and an Instructor/Demonstrator. Motorsport is dangerous\, so Participants are required to respond immediately to any instruction from a Group Leader or Instructor/Demonstrator. A Participant failing to do so may be excluded from the premises. \nThis is a come-and-try fun day. There will be no timing. There will be no scoring. There will be no event awards. The day will be very casual\, but will follow proper motorsport procedure. \nThe Event will be run as part of the 2014 NGK VICTORIAN MOTORKHANA CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 5 and under its Supplementary Regulations. These Sup Regs and the Appendix for the Come & Try are available on www.pakenhamautoclub.org.au \nBook-in: will be from 12:00. Entries Close at 13:00; Event ends at 16:30. \nEntry Fee: $10 per Junior\, $20 per Adult \nLicence:Minimum of a CAMS Level 1 Licence is required which can be purchased on the day. \nBring the family\, bring the friends – we look forward to seeing you there. \nFurther information contact Glad Fish gladfish@netspace.net.au\, ph 0410148058 Clerks of Course \nMotorkhana Come and Try Info and Entry 21 June \n

SUMMARY:June Club Meeting

This role also includes working as a judge on the Australia’s Best Car Awards as well as representing the RACV on a number of Australian Standards committees related to automotive products. \nGreg has extensive experience in the automotive sector being initially trained by his father in the family business and then completing an apprenticeship with Preston Motors. SUMMARY:RACV-AOMC Classic Showcase 2014
DESCRIPTION:This is a marquee event for the PCCV and you are urged to be part of it. The club concours is again being held in conjunction with the RACV-AOMC Classic Showcase\, at Flemington racecourse. As this is our 60th anniversary the club has requested extra space this year because we are expecting a large fleet of Peugeots to grace the lawns of the members’ car park. \nYou can download the site plan at www.aomc.asn.au/B&Eshow14.htm. \nAnd if you want to enter the Car of the Show competition\, download the entry form at www.aomc.asn.au/CarOfShowEntryCSC14.pdf. \nThe gates will open at 9am and you enter from Epsom Road\, Melway 28\, G12. \nEntry is $15 per car (no matter how many people are inside)\, but advance tickets can be purchased from Tim Farmilo at the March meeting for just $13. \nWe always put on a good show at this event\, and in 2012 our relatively small offering won a prize for best club display. John Marriott’s magnificent black 403 also won the trophy for the best post-war European car\, the fourth time he has taken the trophy home. And last year Robert Pavlov’s 404 was unlucky not to win Car of the Show with his sparkling 404. \nAs well as hundreds of cars from all Britain\, Europe and Japan (including expansive displays by the Mercedes\, MG\, Austin Healey and Morris clubs)\, there will be specialist automotive stalls\, music\, kids’ entertainment and plenty of food and drink to sustain you. \nSo polish up your best Pug\, get the family or a group of friends together and come along to Flemington for a great day. \nDownload 2014 Site Plan (Site plan to come) \nClub Display Award – Judging Criteria \nAdmission: Display cars (driver + passengers) – $15\n(prebooked tickets from selected clubs @ $13)\nNOTE: NO EFT or ATM available on site \nSpectators : Adult – $12\, Conc.- $10\, Child under 16 – Free. \nMore details

SUMMARY:March Club Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Club member Zac Edwards is our guest speaker at the March meeting. \nZac won the National Shootout at the Oz Gymkhana at Tailem Bend\, South Australia\, in December. \nZac and his business partner at TechSport\, Jeff Beaumont\, bought a damaged Mitsubishi Mirage and over 12 months built up a speed machine using the mechanicals of an Evo6 rally car\, including four-wheel-drive gear and a two-litre turbocharged engine. They replaced the steel panels with fibreglass or carbon-fibre\, extending the wheel arches to fit bigger wheels and making their own body kit. \nIn the shootout\, which you can find on YouTube\, Zac beat his nearest rival by more than 12 seconds. \nZac will have the Mirage on display for close inspection from 7pm before the club meeting. We will then roll it into the club rooms. His presentation will start with PowerPoint slides and then continue around the car in the supper area so he can point out the critical parts. \nHe will comment where appropriate on what modifications could be applied to Peugeots. It should be a great night for the petrol heads. \nThere will be a bring-your-own barbecue before the meeting and supper afterwards. \n

SUMMARY:Ballarat weekend
DESCRIPTION:1st and 2nd February 2014 \nThe first event of the new year is the annual Ballarat weekend on 1 and 2 February (before the February meeting). It will involve a real Peugeot experience\, starting with lunch at the Vaggs’ compound\, then a pleasant scenic drive\, a relaxed and inexpensive dinner\, and a great drive to lunch on the Sunday\, with a winery visit thrown in for good measure. Please note: the planned Napoleons motorkhana has been cancelled for reasons beyond our control. \nGetting to Ballarat from Melbourne is easy; just follow the Western Freeway and take the third Ballarat exit (the Midland highway\, A300)\, turning right towards Creswick and drive about 2km until you see the Peugeot flags on the left. This is the Vaggs’ property\, at 747 Midland Highway.\nWe will visit Glenn Vagg’s Peugeot history shed from 11am on the Saturday. If you haven’t seen Glenn’s shed before\, you really should. As well as some great cars\, he has all sorts of Peugeot models\, literature and promotional material. \nBYO food and drink. There will be a barbecue available if you wish to use it\, and lunch will be followed by a pleasant afternoon drive in the environs of Ballarat\, planned by Glenn and Paula\, who have promised to find us some hidden gems as well as a great coffee stop.\nOur casual dinner will be at 6.30pm at the Sebastopol Bowling Club\, which is on the left of the Midland Highway near the Begonia City Motor Inn\, where some people will be staying on Saturday night. You may still be able to book a room; call the motel direct on 03 5335 5577\, or go to www.bcmi.com.au. \nIf you want to come to the dinner\, please contact Paula as soon as possible\, either on 0407 271 972 or email paula.glenn@bigpond.com.\nThe Sunday program will begin with a gathering at Vaggs’ from 9.30am. About 10.15 we will move to Pipers By The Lake on Lake Wendouree for a relaxed coffee and chat. \nAfter coffee we will head to Ballan via the old Melbourne Road\, for a casual lunch.\n(If you plan to come for lunch please notify Paula\, as above.)\nFor those with time to spare we will then head out to St Anne’s winery for some tasting before an easy drive home. \nYou can come to either the Saturday or Sunday event\, you don’t have to take part in both.\nIt’s always a great weekend\, so come along and have some fun. \n

SUMMARY:November Yoyage Petit
DESCRIPTION:Voyage Petit to the backblocks of the Mornington Peninsula \nSunday 17 November \nCome and drive the lesser-known roads of the Mornington Peninsula. Many of these roads are gravel but suitable for all Peugeots. I have driven them all in my 406 but don’t forget that if it has been dry it may be a bit dusty and if we have had rainfall in the previous week it may be a little muddy\, so it’s probably best to keep the concours cars in the shed. \nMeeting time – 10am for coffee 10.30 departure. \nMeeting place – Barmah Park Winery Mooroduc Highway Mornington. \nHow to get there – Travel on new Peninsula Link Freeway. Take Exit 18 Mornington/Tyabb. Turn right and drive back over the freeway to Mornington. Travel 3.3km to a roundabout on the Mooroduc Highway. Turn left at roundabout. Travel 800 metres and turn in when you see the red tractor. \nLunch will be in Flinders. After lunch we will drive towards Rosebud\, where you will have the choice of driving home on the freeway or along the beach\, back through Safety Beach and Mornington. \nPlease contact Hank verwoert1@bigpond.com or 9783 2718 if you are going to attend.
